State Of The Union
The President has been accused of not being “presidential”. But that is exactly how the President came across tonight in his State Of The Union address. The President was very clearly The President in the first half of his address. And clearly the Commander In Chief in the second. The distinctions were clear for all to see.
Between the President’s address and the opposition rebutal there are too many points for me to review and comment on without the texts in front of me and an inexhaustable supply of highlighters. But the generalities between Conservative and Liberal idealogy was apparent. A few quick examples from tonight:
The President favors turning the American People loose with their money to keep America working. The Democrats want Government to BE the answer to our problems (”let Uncle Daschle take care of you”). And their bemoaning the how much tax cuts “cost us” is an excellent example of this. Like it’s coming out of their pockets instead of OURS! It is apparent that the Liberals have (conveniently?) fogotten WHO runs this country.
The President understands the dangers of appeasement. The Liberals worship it.
The President understands “America First” . The Liberals want a Global Oligarchy.
The President wants those groups that have proven successful in giving aid and support to others to be further enabled to continue their work with our money. The Liberals want the Federal Government to continue throwing our money at programs that are proven failures.
The President wants to empower parents and communities to make their schools work. The Liberals want to let the NEA continue destroying American Children (stupid children make better slaves to the Global Oligarchy).
So much more deserves comment, but it’s too late and I’m too tired. So I’ll leave it at this:
President George W. Bush is MY President.
