Mandrake

Wednesday, January 15th, 2003

Red Hat, Debian, Slackware SuSE, Turbo, Caldara, Mandrake: I’ve used them all at one time or another. And as each grows up a bit more, focuses change here and there, and my own tastes and needs change. I love them all, but, for the last couple of years Mandrake has been my flavor of choice [...]

Daily Dump

Tuesday, January 14th, 2003

Not much this evening. But what there is, is excellent. First is a review of David Frum’s new book on President Bush. I have heard Mr. Frum speak on some of what is in his book and about some of his personal experiences with the President. It is on my reading wish list, for sure. [...]

Finally found the camera to shoot a couple of pics of the destroyed volume of Dynamic HTML. Here is an overview of the destruction. Note there are still a few leaves and twigs mixed in from the flower bed where I recovered the remains. This is a closer view of the cover. Rest in pieces….

My fears were just confirmed during my conversation with my neighbor. There will be no restitution for the approximately $85 loss. At least he had found my wife’s missing camera, though there was little left by the time the beast had finished with it. The only thing that is going to come of this is [...]

Dog Chewtoy Update

Sunday, January 12th, 2003

In my efforts to resolve the issue of the missing UPS packages I’m attempting to communicate with my neighbor, who is the owner of the felonious Labrador in question. While I’ve not yet gotten a one-on-one conversation the message he left on my machine this morning isn’t encouraging. I’ve known this neighbor for years (as [...]

Hendricks Henpecker

Sunday, January 12th, 2003

A long time friend has emailed me to point out that his Father, a once prominent figure in local politics, has started a website for all of his editorial pieces. So drop by Tony’s site and see what he has to offer. Hendricks Henpecker – Anthony Guido
