Many of us have known that hunting down those trying to subvert America with a 180 degree antithetical belief system was a noble cause, indeed. As politically incorrect as the sentiment may be, old Joe was right. Doing what is right will always be the more difficult and ridiculed choice for anyone […]

The urge to do so occassionally hits me. Too bad it seems that finding a quiet corner of the world and dropping out of society isn’t nearly as easy as it appears. How about the Fed’s take some of this energy and apply it somewhere that it’ll do some good. […]

Leon Uris died today at 78. I think I have read almost every novel he has written and am looking forward to his last, O’Hara’s Choice, due out this fall. Exodus, Trinity, Battle Cry, QBVII, Topaz, Haj and others sit on my bookshelf and count among my all time favorites.

Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Heaven, God was missing for six days. Eventually, Michael the Archangel found him, resting on the seventh day. He inquired of God, “Where have you been?”
God sighed a deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds, “Look Michael, look what I’ve made.”
Archangel […]

If this doesn’t make you cry then you’re an insensitive clod! Seriously though, it’s a real waste of good hardware for the sake of misguided political correctness (nothing new).

While I do not care for the idea of 6 month days and 6 month nights, I like their politics, or at least what they’ve done lately.

While reading the article on the New York Times I was whisked to an older article on Dick Cheney and Glocks that brought an interesting thought to mind. Many of us are writing letters like mad hoping for the sunset of the nefarious semi-automatic rifle ban.
But have we written the Vice President? […]

Or something like that, anway.. An article of note floating over at National Review on the long history of lies and half-truths from the New York Times puts the recent scandals into a better light. It’s not about fabricating news, it’s about getting caught.

Which is no big surprise. Remember when reading this article that what constitues an illegal or illegally owned weapon in New York state is the mere presence of the weapon. That includes in the hands of someone that could own the exact same weapon in other states.

Found a couple of good commentary pieces on the current situation in Iraq now that the war is over. Check out Iraqis seem to be getting along just fine and Iraq’s Identity Crisis for your evening assignments.

Thanks to Elizabeth and Chris S. (not my Bro and his significant other, a different Chris and Elizabeth) there is now a new addition to my reloading workbench! All these FAL’s have quite an appetite and good surplus ammo is getting harder to come by cheaply (running about $150/thousand rounds right now). I’ve […]

I finally got my 2 babies back from being parkerized and put back together. On the way to the range (about 50 ft from where the pics were taken) I snapped these for my website and thought I’d share. This is a reasonably comprehensive recap of the notes in the various image galleries built along […]

Many who believe that law abiding citizens of the US shouldn’t be allowed to own firearms often offer a National Registry of gun owners as an alternative (read incremental) step toward a safer country. The National Registry in Canada is typical of such registries and it’s one whopper of a boondoggle if ever […]

The San Diego Union-Tribune is running a commentary piece on the ineffectual nature of the ‘94 “assault weapons” ban. The author has done a good job outlining the nature of the ban and what it has (or has not) done to keep us “safe”.
The NW Indiana Times is also carrying an excellent editorial on […]

I was fortunate to find someone in Indiana that does parkerizing. AJ in Carmel has now done 2 complete rifles and one parts kit for me. The parkerizing is the gray zink variety such as is normally found on M1 Garands or Springfield 1903’s. There were a few problems with the parts I […]

The amount of criticism aimed at President Bush and the Republicans over those “left out” of the recent child tax rebates is deceiptful. What the Democrats don’t want “us” to know is that those “left out” of the tax cut don’t pay taxes. How to you give back or return something to someone […]

Bill Clinton used Iraqi WMD’s existence in ‘98, the U.N. has acknowledged that Iraq has them. Hans Blix acknowledges that there are WMD’s missing from previous known information. But it was President Bush that actually acted on the information and gained the political clout from the most recent endeavors in Iraq. And […]

When I started this Blog I knew it would take some effort to keep the content somewhat fresh. With current events being what they are, and my tendency to have a “comment” on most things, I did not feel that a lack of inspiration would be a problem.
What I did not count on being […]
