Dude, License a Dell?

The idiocy of technology and software licensing today is continuing to escalate as this brief tirade about Dell nicely illustrates.

Somewhere, somehow, everyone has broken the law and is a criminal because the laws have become so obscured that no one can follow them, including law enforcement agencies. Selective enforcement is something we’ve all seen if we’re reading the news and paying attention; politically incorrect individuals, groups, hobbies and beliefs are constantly under fire. (if you have to ask…).

So now it appears that the 800 pound gorilla’s of technology are working to ensure the same in technology (this move on Dell’s part was likely prompted by pressure and/or problems with Microsoft). As it is, if you buy a software product and it doesn’t do what was advertised you’re out of luck. Most End User License Agreements (EULA) you’ve agreed to before testing the software says it’s not their fault and that the software isn’t warrented to perform any specific purpose.

Gag.
