New Gun Laws
It isn’t often that gun laws in Indiana change. And I’m sure many are aware of the new requirements to purchase a firearm in Indiana (cached ) . The federal check that our carry permits allowed us to get around (because the permits required the same checks to aquire) now applies to every Hoosier, every purchase.
So what is so horrid about that? It’s another angle to destroy gun shows and small shops. Plus if Don Davis thinks its a good idea (and should apply to private transactions) then you know it’s a BAD IDEA right off.
The immediate impact as I understand it is that not only will the time it takes to complete the transaction now be considerably longer and more expensive (these checks are not free people) but that handgun sales at gun shows won’t happen since the ISP isn’t available on Saturday due to budget cuts.
