Republicans becoming traitors to morality and conservatism?
The recall in California is quickly pointing out who are the true conservatives on the radio, on the television, in California politics and in Washington DC. I’ve watched and listened with amazement as supposed Republican pundit after Republican pundit insinuated that McClintock should get out of Arnold’s way. Even Sean Hannity! (I would expect it from the likes of O’Rielly).
The line goes “we” have to win in California so badly that we have to eat our own young to do so. But this notion that McClintock can’t win because he won’t compromise is a lie andthe Gallup numbers show it is far from loosing proposition.
If the Republicans take California it will make things more difficult for Bush in 2004 by giving his enemies a huge disaster under republican control to point (it doesn’t matter who made the mess but who is there now as the Clinton economy well proves). So why are they so eager to put in a Liberal like Arnold?
This is likely the only opportunity that the Republicans will have to get a man of true conservative principles into the Governorship of California. So why are they throwing it? And why are the Liberals putting up such a good show against one of their phylisophical own?
I’m afraid I don’t like to contemplate that one without putting on my tin-foil hat.
