Computer Nostalgia

Sunday, November 30th, 2003

My second computer ever was a Commodore C64, that would have been somewhere around 1983-4. 20 years later the rather common PDA has more power than the C64 and can even run C64 software.

Computers In Classrooms

Sunday, November 30th, 2003

Seldom do I find much out of San Francisco worthy of attention, but SFGate.com has an excellent article on how technology is dumbing down the classroom. The articles prima facia purpose is to ask why we slash teachers and teacher salaries in budget crunchs, yet continue to expand technology spending. But past that the article [...]

Guns, America and Terrorism

Sunday, November 30th, 2003

Glen Reynolds has an excellent piece running over at Fox News on the assault on America, Guns, Masculinity. One ascertation that I found interesing (if not surprising): though it is little publicized, much of the gun-control movement’s financial and institutional support comes from non-evangelical Protestant denominations

A few tid-bits

Tuesday, November 25th, 2003

Another Ashcroft screwup? Hardly. While I have some issues with Ashcroft he is largely for law and order and enforces the law. This is the current law and legislation is underway to make sure it stays that way. The subverting of Democracy by Federal judges is known to all, though some ignore, try to hide [...]

Cicero on Public Debt

Monday, November 24th, 2003

“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. God And The First Amendment

Monday, November 24th, 2003

“To those who cite the First Amendment as reason for excluding God from more and more of our institutions everyday; I say: The First Amendment of the Constitution was not written to protect the people of this country from religious values; it was written to protect religious values from government tyranny.” –Ronald Reagan

Spam-Rage

Friday, November 21st, 2003

A Silicon Valley programmer is out on bail, charged with spam enduced road rage. It appears that he: threatened to send a “package full of Anthrax spores” to the company, to “disable” an employee with a bullet and torture him with a power drill and ice pick; and to hunt down and castrate the employees [...]

Washington, D.C. – The Liberal’s Quaqmire

Friday, November 21st, 2003

“The U.S. military has had considerably more success in turning Iraq around than liberals have had in turning the ghettos around with their 40-year ‘War on Poverty.’ So far, fewer troops have been killed by hostile fire since the end of major combat in Iraq than civilians were murdered in Washington, DC, last year. How [...]

IPD Firings – It’s only about sex

Thursday, November 20th, 2003

When we, as a Nation, allowed Bill Clinton to get away with sex on the job and lying about it a message was sent out that this behavior is now OK. Sheriff Anderson is right, fire them while the public is only calling for the officers heads.

The Indianapolis FBI office is on the job in the CANDLES Museum arson case. The Indianapolis Star has a few paragraphs on the FBI’s involvement plus an editorial of their own. Information on contributing to the Museum can be found here.
