Computers In Classrooms

Seldom do I find much out of San Francisco worthy of attention, but SFGate.com has an excellent article on how technology is dumbing down the classroom. The articles prima facia purpose is to ask why we slash teachers and teacher salaries in budget crunchs, yet continue to expand technology spending. But past that the article goes into the depths of failures caused by teaching with computers.

Traditional teaching is falling by the way-side and the next generation will simply be unable to perform the real work necessary in the market place, that which goes on between the ears.

One of the well exploited “weaknesses” of our Republic is that to survive the long term Citizens must be well educated in history, literature, logic and rhetoric, little of which has been taught in decades.
