Indy 1500
I hadn’t gotten what I consider a “deal” at the Indy 1500 in in many years. Over the last few years I’d almost given up going for any reason other than to kill off a weekend afternoon. But today there were a few deals to be had. One vendor had 200 rnd Port battle packs for $33 each which is such a good deal that when I was ready to go get some I found out one guy bought his whole stock. So back to the S.A. at 140rnd battle packs for $25 including tax. One local “discount” shop actually sells this stuff for $40 each.
On the down side a friend of mine was looking to sell (Springfield G3) and no one is buying higher dollar pre-ban stuff unless you’re willing to make trades rather than deal cash. And another friend is looking to sell a DR200 and if he dragged it along today I’m sure he was disappointed to see 1/2 dozen of them floating around various tables for under $700.
The dealer I put most of my cash through looked to be doing a brisk business as he usually does. But when he had a moment to talk he was very exasperated over the amount of money / sales he’d lost and is loosing to the long insta-check hold times. He told us he’d lost $11k today alone because of the delays.
