Liberation & Democracy
Democracy is a terrible weapon to wield against an uneducated populance which is likely why the Shiite leaders in Iraq are demanding elections happen sooner than later. The US mission in Iraq will be the dismal failure the Liberals hope for if we do not hold our ground and do what is right for Iraq and Iraqis’ rather than what is politically expedient in the political arena of an election year.
The Iraqi’s have to have at least a rudementary knowledge of what it means to live under democratic rule; what participation and responsibilities every would be citizen must shoulder for it to succeed, survive and thrive our mission risks being for naught. It would be akin to turning children loose in a candy store without even a basics Health course.
After that we could teach the same to our own.
