PLogging
For many years I’ve tried different approaches to get key players in the company to communicate via collaborative tools. And after upgrading my site here with WordPress it struck me that it’d be a great way to publish updates not only for internal IT updates but to log the actions of the many key players in building out our new building and the upcoming whole-office move. Of course I know our people so the idea quickly faded into obscurity.
As they say though, there is nothing new, nothing that hasn’t been thought of by someone, somewhere. Enter Michael Schrage with his article The Virtues of Chitchat - Making I.T. Work - CIO Magazine May 15,2004 on Project Logging, or Plogging.
I doubt this concept, while a great idea, will become any more common place than a Wiki which is yet another under utilized technology in Corporate America.
