Ok, so if Airports Can Go Back to Private Screeners what was the point of federalizing them to begin with? Ah, to increase the size of the Federal Government. Remember that while President Bush signed the law authorizing Federalization of screeners he was not a proponet. Anyone care to guess which side of theHouse was so eager to do so? President Bush could have Vetoed it but I believe the initial passage was enough to override a veto so it would have been pointless.
