They’re Here…..
The AIM Surplus Enfields have arrived!
All 4 are Ishy (Ishapore arsonal in India) screwed FTRs (overhauled) in reasonable condition. Al have matching bolts, mags are force matched. Three have butt heel repairs that are fairly well done. Most of the metal surface is bare with some nastly black paint in the cracks (It looks like they’d originally painted the wood, too, and it’s just worn off or wouldn’t stick to all that linseed oil). Though dirty the bores are shiny.
Top to bottom (what I’ve thus far deduced anyway): No4 MkI (F) 1944 FTR’d in 1949, No4 Mk1 ROF (F) II / 43 FTR’d F 57, No1 MkIII* Lithgow and No1 MkIII* FR
Maybe they’re not real “collectable” but I think they’ll clean up and fit into my collection just fine and looks like they’ll be good shooters. I would have been happier if they weren’t Ishies but having seen them I’d order them again.
I’m especially pleased with the top No4.
