With all due respect to Mrs. Reagan, has she already forgotten President Reagan’s strong stance against abortion? While Senators pile onto the stem cell research cause as a way to put it to President Bush, Mrs. Reagan needs to stop and rethink what she, in her grief, is asking for.
If stem cell research […]

It isn’t too common for me to get excited or be impressed with so-called alternative vehicles. But the Aquada which set a cross-Channel speed of 1 hour, 40 minutes is a slick looking toy with real, pratical applications in some areas of the world. Of course dumping the roadway for the water would open up […]

“It was leadership here at home that gave us strong American influence abroad, and the collapse of imperial Communism. Great nations have responsibilities to lead, and we should always be cautious of those who would lower our profile, because they might just wind up lowering our flag.” –Ronald Reagan (1994)

In this campaign season I think that President Bush’s gracious handling of the unveiling of President Clinton’s portrait is a testimony to the worth of President Bush as a man and as the sitting President that surpasses 1000 campaign commercials.
It is my hope that it will be many many years before we find […]

Michael Moore is &8216;Fahrenheit 9/11’s R rating, trying for PG13. I can imagine Moore’s appoplexy over requiring teens to be accompanied by an adult to see this film. I’m not sure which scares him more, that the accompaning adult might recognize the wholesale liberties Moore has taken with the truth or that no […]

One of the big problems with John Kerry and the campaign he is and his liberal cronies are running is that it makes despots and dictators think if they can only hold out for a few more months they may get a more sympathetic U.S. President this fall.

The Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) is 23 years old and the Army deems it due for replacement. The new system is called the Army Combat Uniform or ACU. Several features of the new system were overdue though hopefully the camo pattern on display isn’t the final one. It’s a digitized pattern that reminds […]

More and more newspapers’ online offerings require registrations. The New York Times was one of the earliest I remember. Being the nut that I am I refuse to frequent newspapers or other online news and current events media that require intrusive registration processes.
The newspapers argue a fair case for riding out the complaints against […]

“And whatever else history may say about me when I’m gone, I hope it will record that I appealed to your best hopes, not your worst fears, to your confidence rather than your doubts. My dream is that you will travel the road ahead with liberty’s lamp guiding your steps and opportunity’s arm steadying your […]

It is somehow fitting that Cuba should bash President Reagan then remember that the current President of the United States is a Reagan protege and issue a “clarification”. It took weeks to take down Iraq so Cuba ought to be a vacation cruise for our boys in uniform.
Wouldn’t Cuba as the 51st State […]

Well well well… it appears that UN inspectors are finally admitting Saddam removed his WMD’s before and after the war. Could this be one more nail in the coffin that is the Kerry candidacy? More likely the media will continue to ignore or burry anything that could reflect well on President Bush as they’ve done […]

When I was young it was impressed upon me that every decision effected future decisions. That while a good decision could open up additional options in the future, bad choices would limit my future choices. And just as a string of good choices will continue to offer more clearly defined choices going forward […]

This is abuse not “torture” and is less than most Fraternity pledge pranks. These were also terrorists, not soldiers. Under Geneva they can still be shot as spys or held indefinately as illegal combatants since many were not even out of uniform soldiers but civilian infiltrators trained by terrorist organizations such as al-qada (who […]

Many companies today have no notion of customer service. The airline industry took care of themselves with Federal laws that make it a felony to put a deserving airline employee in their place (as satirized in the movie Anger Management). The fast food industry hasn’t progressed that far yet but it seems they’re learning. […]

I knew the liberals wouldn’t long refrain from again denegrating the greatest president of our time. So I haven’t been too taken aback by the online pundits spewing their twisted revised history and vitriolic hatred at his memory.
What has surprised me is that people really do remember that President Reagan was […]

Recent films such as the Lord of the Rings and Timeline have renewed the centuries long fascination with the trebuchet. In fact I’ve contemplated building one for myself, but only big enough to launch small items at people passing my office door. Others, though, have found interesting if not smart ways to enjoy […]

A Muslim scholar at San Diego State University says that the Quran says Israel belongs to Jews. While it is true that the Quran says exactly that a Muslim that acknowledges this is putting his life in jeapordy I’m sure. The “radical” elements of Islam do not allow dissent.

Here is yet another study on the relationship between autism and a vaccine preservative that contains mercury. If you watch this topic/issue over a prolonged period you’ll see such research coming out ever few months finding both ways. This one is in support of the mecury - autism link.
My personal point of view is that […]

We’ve heard that from the anti-Second Amendment crowd for a couple of decades at least. But it turns out to be complete false just as the Pro Second Amendment people have claimed. When guns are not available Teens Turn to Hanging Instead of Guns.

‘No Guns’ Signs Come Down in Ohio. It didn’t take long for the companies that posted the signs to realize that criminals can read as well. And a “No Guns Allowed” sign aimed at licensed carriers serves only to notify crooks where they can safely ply their trade.

Brigitte Bardot fined for inciting racial hatred by writing in her book her opinions on muslims and homosexuals. “Hate crime” laws serve only to muzzle opposition, not to “protect minorities”.

A new addition to the collection from todays Indy 1500. Short Magazine Lee Enfield No4 Mk1(F). The seller also had a No 1 Mk 3* and a No 2 (7.62×51 instead of .303). Unfortunately the seller was cash only or I’d had the No 2 as well.
