NYC Protestors with flag drapped coffins

When I saw the NYC Protestors with flag drapped coffins representing the thousand US troopers who have died in Iraq it made me mad for a couple of reasons.

First, these are the same people protesting war in general. What do they care about our troops? They don’t care and their actions both here and abroad prove that beyond doubt. Their only “affection” for our troops is as political tools to use against President Bush whom they despise to a level that defies comprehension and should keep shrinks employed for the next 4 years.

Second is the number. They parade the 1000 coffins of Iraq but what of the 3000 innocent people who died in the WTC?

The thousand in Iraq were volunteers, they were trained to face the enemy, they knew the risk and, knowing what they were fighting for, went anyway.

The three-thousand in the towers were not soldiers. They were not trained to combat our enemies. They did not volunteer to do so. They were everyday civilians going about their business, living the American Dream.

The number of our troopers who have died in the cause of Freedom saddens me but it also makes me proud to be an American. Proud that there are still young men and women in America who know what it means to be an American.

If these Bush haters want to show the American People injustice they should be showing pictures of people jumping from the burning towers, carrying 3000 coffins through the streets and daily reminding us who the enemy is.

Instead they do everything in their power to hide the enemy from our eyes and keep us from remembering why we’re fighting the War against Terrorism.

When was the last time you saw the planes go into the Towers on the television news? When was the last time you were reminded that 3000 Americans died there? When was the last time you were reminded that victims of 9/11 chose to die by their own hand rather than burn to death in that hellish inferno?

I’ll wager it’s been awhile. Never Forget.
