Oil For WMD’s
So while the main stream press is focusing on the portions of Charles Duelfer’s report that state there are no stockpiles of WMD’s in Iraq they’ll carefully gloss over that the same man, Charles Duelfer, also says in the report that the U.N. lacked any credibility in dealing that same issue before the United States lead coalition went in. Even the British papers are reporting the UN’s roll in taking bribes from Hussein.
With that little piece of information consider that President George W. Bush was right to believe that the United Nations would not act to stop Iraq’s weapons programs all thought to exist at the time. Including John Kerry. (Saddam himself is telling us of his nuclear aspirations.)
And yet while we debate the missing WMD’s from Iraq in the presidential campaign circle the United Nations is again doing nothing. As a matter of fact one of the presidential candidates actually believes giving Iran nuclear fuel rods is the best way to deal with Iran’s nuclear “energy” ambitions. Funny how when Bill Clinton did that the North Korean’s built bombs with it. Bill Clinton’s mistake isn’t as obvious as Kerry’s proposal for the simple reason North Korea needs more electric generation capacity and a reactor is an inexpensive way to achieve that. But in Iran where oil literally squirts from the sand and gasoline is $0.05 a gallon… something is fishy… and for all it’s girth Kerry’s nose can’t quite lock onto it.
