What about the 500 Tons of Iraqi Uranium?

Finally!! Someone is taking note that though there were not “stockpiles” of actual weapons the fissionable materials was in the works. Largely unknown the general public is that the IAEA removed 500 tons of “yellow cake” uranium ore from Iraq. Of that Iraq had already started the enrichment process on 1.8 tons.

Both Kay and Duelfer confirmed in their reports that nuclear research continued up to the time our tanks rolled across the starting line in Kuwait.

More frustrating is the many claiming this is for nuclear power plants. I’ve pointed out in just this past week the fact that for a country with $0.05 per gallon gasoline nuclear power is more expensive.
