Bridgeton Covered Bridge Torched

Thursday, April 28th, 2005

It was reported this morning that the Bridgeton Indiana Coverd Bridge has been torched by an arsonist. DHS caught the arsonist red handed with a can of gasoline attempting to light a second unnamed bridge.
First question is what motive cause someone to want to burn down an almost 137 year old landmark.
Second question is how […]

Gun-seizure bill a tribute to slain officer

Gun-seizure bill a tribute to slain officer
This is a horribly evil bill in that it allows police to confiscate firearms without charging the owner. So much for due process in Indiana.
This bill has passed both houses and is on the Governor’s desk for signature. The Governor can be contacted on his website
I respectfully ask […]

Foreign Convictions

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

The Supreme Court has ruled that foreign convictions do not count against right to own firearms. Some conservatives may see this as a loss for a Nation of Law but it is a win for a Nation of Justice.
For example a man convicted of possessing ammunition in Mexico would otherwise be barred from owning […]

Google PhoneBook Name Removal

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

And speaking of Googling phone numbers if you go to Google and enter your phone number you’ll likely receive not only your phone book listing but also links to 3 maps to where you live. If this bothers you I recommend you go to the Google PhoneBook Name Removal page.

(866) 383-0986

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

Yesterday my wife received a phone call from a “foreign sounding” guy wanting my fax number and that it was something to do with a domain registration. Since I’m listed as either owner or technical contact on about 60 domains this type of call isn’t completely unknown to her but the request for a fax […]

Thanks from the Redhead

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

My little redhead friend here wanted me to thank everyone for the attention he is getting. “Redhead Galleries” is currently the Number 1 search engine query (again) and if he weren’t already of a rather ruddy complexion you’d see he’s blushing…

PACT, Inc.

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

I’ve owned my PACT, Inc. Model 1 Chronograph for 10-12 years and it has served me very well. The skyscreen brackets have taken a few hits over the years and the tops didn’t make it back from a recent trip so after months of procrastination (not like I use the chronograph daily) I finally […]

Southern Democrats Turning GOP

Monday, April 25th, 2005

Some might see Southern Democrats Turning GOP as a change in course of these converting Democrats. And while it is true the Democrat party has move away from these southern Democrats the Republican party has moved up to fill that void. And in doing so have become the party Democrats were 20 years ago. […]

And this is a bad thing??

Monday, April 25th, 2005

For decades the Federal government has grown and grown until it is now the largest single employer in the country. The Republicans have always run as the party of smaller government despite the fact that it’s not been panning out that way in Washington. But hopefully that’s about to change and the liberals are […]

Open Letter from Ronnie Barrett

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

This is a must read for gun owners, shooters and collectors, an open letter from Ronnie Barrett.

CA: Citizens Arrest

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

The Soldier arrested for detaining illegals has been cleared of any wrong doing by the County Attourney:
“This is a unique case with a very unique set of circumstances, and after a full analysis of the issues involved and the applicable law, prosecution is not appropriate,” said Thomas.
Of course the CA hedged, he probably has enough […]

Superstition

Thursday, April 21st, 2005

“Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do children of humans as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.” — Helen Keller

New Vaquero And The Missus

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

Surprisingly the Missus liked shooting the old model Vaquero so I figure she’ll like the New Vaquero better since the grip is smaller, the hammer travel is shorter and it weighs almost 5oz less. On the first day with the New Vaquero I set her up with the load she liked in the […]

Man Arrested For Spitting On Jane Fonda

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

And they say there are no hero’s today…. Seems Fonda handled the situation graciously though the city is pressing charges. And though she really does deserve it we should have more manners than to treat them the way they treated our GI’s when they came home.
Sometimes it’s not as fun being the White Hats.

New Taurus & Beretta Stuff

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

Taurus’s new catalog is out (download the PDF) and there are a few interesting things. First is, as I’m mentioned before, the Gaucho - the Taurus entry into the SAA market and from the 2 samples I’ve already seen it looks like they’re going to make a strong showing with it.
Another new from Taurus […]

Schwarzenegger

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

He finally says something I agree with and what does he do? He apologizes! The agravates me almost as much as DeLay apologizing for his comments about the courts. Comments that, like Arnold’s, were dead on target.

Inflation & Conservative Advertising

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

Interesting how even conservative advertising gives you more information than the mainstream press.
Inflation is something that we’ve been noticing is a lot higher than the government is telling us. Forget fuel, go to Walmart and buy groceries! Over the last 3 or 4 months our average weekly Walmart bill has gone up at least […]

Americans Overmedicated

Tuesday, April 19th, 2005

I’ve maintained for many years that in the United States today the health care system gives out prescriptions rather than actually trying to root out the problem. But then if the doctors prescribed something “inconvenient” to the patient, that’s more inconvenient than the malady, the patient would whine “can’t you just give me a pill […]

Venezuela’s Chavez Expanding ArmyAgainst U.S. ‘Imperialism’

Tuesday, April 19th, 2005

“The government of the United States of America, that’s the true negative force in this region,” Chavez said
Spoken like the
old Soviet style communist lapdog that he is. Let those on Hollywood espouse the virtues of Fidel Castro, he is still a ruthless communist dictator trying to pickup in South America where the USSR left […]

Leftist Organizations Recognized as Terrorist Groups

Tuesday, April 19th, 2005

Finally. After a decade of the media demonizing shooting clubs and gun owners as “right wing extremists” and terrorists it is the Left wing Green and Animal rights groups that make the terrorist watch lists. While the “right wing” was being demonized by the media it was the Leftist groups like ALF/ELF and the […]

Border Patrol union supports Minutemen

Tuesday, April 19th, 2005

Contrary to the media reports rank and file Border Patrol agents support the Minutemen. Also contrary to media reports the Minutemen are not causing the problems that are being reported.
“Reports of [Minutemen] causing ‘ground sensors’ to go off are exaggerated because most of those are being set off by the ACLU sneaking around trying to […]

Bolton the Bully

Monday, April 18th, 2005

John Bolton is being cast as a bully by CNN (naturally). We need a strong willed and determined person to be our advocate at the United Nations to keep that mob of 2-bit dictators in line.
If the liberals (and CNN) had their way some push-over would be sent to the UN who would be […]

Nation of Minutemen

Monday, April 18th, 2005

“Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom.” –John F. Kennedy

Snakes

Sunday, April 17th, 2005

You know spring is here when you start finding snakes around the yard. While shooting today I pulled a small piece of plywood off the stack to staple my targets to and found a beautiful Red Rat snake slumbering. We stood and admired him for several minutes before he decided there might be a better […]

British Packrats

Saturday, April 16th, 2005

I mean holds onto illegible 100 year old papyrus documents scavanged out of a landfill? Amazingly enough they now can. I have a lot of qualms with the British but when it comes to archeology they’re typically first rate.
