Interestingly the medias new found hero, formerly known as Deep Throat, conducted the same type of break-in investigations that got Nixon in trouble.
“In November 1980, Felt and Edward S. Miller, then head of the FBI’s intelligence division, were convicted of authorizing break-ins without warrants into the homes of members of the Weathermen in the 1970s, a radical antiwar group.
“During the trial, Felt testified that he was following standard procedures for government investigations.”
So the new media darling did a B&E on an anti-war group? 
I seem to remember some nobody named Liddy saying the B&E was SOP for the type of investigation. Too bad Felt is too old for Liddy to sue, that’d make for some entertaining media.
