The man who allegedly shot the teens who were egging passing cars was captured this evening. I’m only 95% certain since I’ve not seen the guy in almost 20 years but it’s quite likely that this guy graduated in my high school class.

to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe
trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe
is winning.” — Rich Cook

The Senate has passed S397, the legislation to protect firearms manufacturers, distributors and sellers from the lawsuits the anti-gun crowd is using in attempting to enact gun-control through judicial activism and ultimately to bankrupt our side. Seriously folks you don’t sue Ford for the actions of a drunk driver but that’s exactly the type of […]

Especially if you’re running Java apps with JCE 1.2.1. It seems that JCE 1.2.1 “expired” last Wednesday (7/27) and applications using Sun’s Cryptography / JCE 1.2.1 will simply no longer start. I’m telling everyone this because it cost me 3 hours of my life that I will never get back. Three hours for […]

I always find it interesting when those wishing the Government to sponsor embrionic stem cell research refer to it simply as “stem cell research”. This confuses the issue, intentionally, with adult stem cell research which is where all the action is.
The reason these folks want the government to pay for embryonic stem cell research is […]

Don’t forget your favorite sysadmin on today, System Administrator Appreciation Day.
I expect to see the appreciation showing up in the form of expensive gifts any time now….
Oh gee, I’m sorry, I don’t know what happened to that file you spent all night working on.. no.. I’m sorry but the file was open during […]

So if the Terrorists in Iraq are the “freedom fighters” that the European and American Left claim why are they continually killing their own people especially those stepping forward to help create and independant Iraq? How about because they’re not “freedom fighters” but tyrant wanna-be’s?
Were they (these so-called “freedom fighters”) seriously interested […]

I guess we now know which editorial direction Oliver Stone’s new movie about 9/11 will take. Not surprising considering the hatchet job he has done on every movie purported to be about “history”. Typical revisionist drivel….

If Americans are more opptimistic and satisfied with life than Europeans why does the political Left in this country continue to try and turn America into a province of the European Union? Because they’re not among those who are “opptimistic and satisfied” and misery loves company.

Jude Wanniski has written an excellent piece on Greenspan and the his position on the gold standard.
Yes, at first I was shocked to hear Greenspan say he did not see any circumstances that would require the dollar to be fixed to gold again, as it had been for most of our history until […]

Zell Miller has an excellent op-ed on why Firearms firms need protection. In protest of this legislation a Gun Control Group Files New Lawsuits but the point their making, simply by reading the article, proves the need for S397.
S397 is up for a vote in the Senate today, call your Senator.

After the untenable accusations thrown against Rove fell cleanly from Rove, Biden using the Plame Game again as an excuse to continue holding up John Bolton’s confirmation. This is typical Biden political chicanery and goes to pattern that Dem’s believe anything a Bush appointee or staffer says is a huge lie just waiting […]

Every so often a small Muslim group, typically in America, will condemn terror as the vile thing that it is and counter to Islamic teaching. After the London bombings there were a few more, mostly hushed by the mainstream thus leaving not necessarily their sincerity but their comprehension of their own religion in doubt. Especially […]

Extradition? This guy committed an act of war against the United States and should be summarily shot. At the same time I feel this is the just fate of any person maliciously entering into anyone else computer system or network.

It’s a terrible over reaction to shoot someone for egging your truck. But I’ll lay the blame here squarely on the parents. It’s 11:30PM and “six or seven” under age teens are out throwing eggs at passing cars? Where were the parents?
Even worse, while the guy that shot them excercised incredibly poor judgement […]

I’m sure American Liberals are salivating over Castro’s ability to crackdown on Dissidents in Cuba. Amazing that anyone would hold this guy up as a model but much of the Left in America do. Unfortunately many in South America are starting to as well.

I can’t help but be amused to see the resurrection of the Stevens Favorite in various calibers. They were neat little guns but 20 years ago when someone would bring a broken one into the shop for repair they were not worth fixing.
But after a look at Winchester’s $900 1885 Low Wall I […]

Contrary to the nonsense recenly claiming that Darwin’s theories are fact and largely proven a group of 400 scientists remind us otherwise. But like those scientists who man made global warming voodoo these 400 will not see the light of day in the mainstream press.

Bloomberg’s business sense may be (or have been) OK but
this is flat out stupid.
In a show of my bi-partisanship I’m chalking up this Republican in the Liberal Madness category.

John Roberts from Long Beach Indiana. Initial reports are that John Roberts worked for the Reagan administration and was appointed to the D.C. Court of Appeals by President GW Bush in 2003. Other than that I know nothing about this guy so time to do some digging to see if he will […]

The inmates are truly running the asylum… When they openly say things like “we deserved it” and refer the the enemy as “freedom fighters”, while they’re shooting our people, I can’t imagine why the FBI would monitor their web sites??? Do they really think we’re that stupid?
If Justice wants to actually […]

I, too, have been watching these activities on most of our servers. I tend to doubt that who or what ever is doing it really expects to get anywhre just because of the not only random but completely lame user ID’s being tried against at least some hosts. For example I’ll see many attempts […]
