The Stem Cell Debate

I always find it interesting when those wishing the Government to sponsor embrionic stem cell research refer to it simply as “stem cell research”. This confuses the issue, intentionally, with adult stem cell research which is where all the action is.

The reason these folks want the government to pay for embryonic stem cell research is because the commercial interests are following the research that is actually showing promise.

If the commercial interests, with a profit motive, doesn’t want to persue embryonic stem cell research why should the Government and the American people foot the bill? If the answers were there no one can tell me the commercial interests wouldn’t be on it. And despite what the papers whould have you think there are no obstacles to embryonic stem cell research other than not using public monies.
