As an update on a previous post concerning the phone number (866) 383-0986 Michael Righti has some updated information.

Thanks Phil P for reminding me there are still people receiving calls from these folks who want to know what’s going on.

    I guess I have become another ??victim?? of this scam, if that is what it is. I just received 2 calls… one with no caller ID and a person who sounded like he was oriental (very poor english speaking). He too asked for my fax number so, I told him that I do not have a fax machine. He then told me to call 866-383-0986 and he worked for www.domainregistrysupport.com and amazingly enough, that number appears on that website.

    The second phone call came in with the caller ID of 866-383-0986 so, I called it and it went to an anwsering machine. I instantly hung up.

    I did a traceroute on the website and it is registered out of Miami so, I can only assume that it forwards the call to a $100.00 per min. offshore phone number… who knows.

    I am not willing to pay that price.
