Is Society Pro-Crime?
I have to wonder because everything we read and are told today is to just let criminal go. Give them what they want and they’ll leave and that lives are worth more than the money. But sometimes its not the cash value we’re dealing with here and acting like sheep only encourages more to become wolves. It is bad enough that even here in Indiana doing the right thing is punished with negative reinforcement.
Mr. Brown did the right thing, pretty much by the book and is now likely unemployed. Of course I subscribe to not only the axiom “better tried by twelve than carried by six” but also the “better alive and unemployed”. Hopefully the business owner is just dragging out a suspension to sooth his liability insurance and will reinstate Mr. Brown in the days or weeks to come. But I doubt it.
In the meantime I would suggest Mr. Brown use the time off to work on his proficiency.
