It appears to be politics as usual in Wisconsin. Not only did Doyle once again veto but once again the Assembly failed to override it. For the time being it appears Wisconsinians will remain defenseless and continue to live with a government that doesn’t trust those who elected them.
Considering who they’re […]

Many years of familiarity with much of anything will cause a certain level of complacency to establish itself. When this happens most of the time it manifests itself in much the same way extensive training does; things are done automatically with an often dulled awareness to the task at hand. This may be desirable […]

After reworking a Russian capture K98 and Zastava M24/47 for Mike I had been working slowly on getting my own M48 cleaned up. The warm weekend finally let me get the last of the finish on it. Today I got it all back together after the final rub down. It’ll still need a good […]

Not because they don’t want to be seen as abetting and encouraging illegal immigration to the United States but because they’re afraid the maps will tell the Minutemen where the illegals are coming through.
I heard the argument again today that “they’re doing jobs American’s don’t want”. While this may be true it does not override […]

It appears that at least in some quarters today’s psudo-conservatism is spreading - to Canada. Something about the mess the Liberals have made of it. Bad show, indeed.

Border patrol and the FBI were involved in a standoff with Mexican military on Monday, on US soil.
“It’s been so bred into everyone not to start an international incident with Mexico that it’s been going on for years,” Doyal told the Bulletin. “When you’re up against mounted machine guns, what can you do? Who wants […]

It has been discussed for years that spy activity between nations, especially Russia and the West actually increased after the end of the “Cold War”. Most of the increases were originally noted were Russian spying increases inside the US but I’m sure they weren’t alone.
Now the British have gotten so sloppy the Russians […]

Canada treats honest citizens like criminals when it comes to firearms and self defense and now that the honest citizen is the perfect government rated grade A victim they are blaming the increase (Toronto) gun deaths on America.
“Canadians are appalled by crime, while for Americans, this is just a part of life and […]

Winchester is closing their last US factory which manufactures the model 70’s and 94’s. Now that they’re starting to get it right…. I love my little 94 trapper and intend to add a .30-30 and/or .32 Special to the collection along with an 1886 in .45-70. I wonder if this will […]

Stick a finger in Wendy’s Chili as a scam and get 9/12 years in prison but if you are a teach who has homosexual sex with a student get a suspended sentence. I guess the several cases of women sleeping with male students who are serving prison sentences made the mistake of being hetrosexual.

I am very sad to see Lugar run for his sixth term unopposed, though there is still time for a conservative challenger I doubt it will happen. But for my money I don’t want a republican that I cannot tell from the democrat for if that is the case if I would happen to […]

Someone has shot a cat and a racoonwith a crossbow and its a potential felony in California. Now I truely dislike shooting cats. Racoons and possums are quite a different matter entirely especially here in the midwest where 1/2 a state over racoons means potential of rabis. And with racoons if you can’t […]

We’ll see if a battered woman carrying firearm because she was afraid her ex was going to kill her gets any cause celeb from the National Organization of Women. And I’m betting it doesn’t just like Bill Clinton’s abuse of women drew no comments from NOW because Bill was ‘one of their own’.
California, […]

I am a coffee junkie, I’ll make a pot of coffee in the morning and nurse it unil its gone. Sometimes that takes a couple of hours or all day depending. If I’m out in the workshop instead of at my desk tend to recycle my cold half cups through the pot on the […]

If you weren’t afraid for your freedoms yet spend some time reading the UN Small Arms 2006 conference documents and you quickly will be. One of the more interesting documents is one submitted by our neighbor to the south:
Illegal civilian possession of small arms usually starts with weapons that were brought and produced in […]

It only took a week to get a day I could actually do it but the new television antenna is finally mounted on the rotor mast. The antenna is our Christmas present from my Father. And it is huge as the photo shows…

The site has now been upgraded to WordPress 2.0. Sadly my favorite plugin doesn’t yet work with the 2.0 version. Fortunately the 1.5 themes work with 2.0 though I noticed a dozen or so other themes I want to checkout so maybe I’ll finally dump the Kubrick theme for something more interesting. Or maybe not…..

Curious the radio news I hear always note that Jack Abramoff was a Republican lobbyist who funneled money to Delay and Bush. But they don’t mention that it seems as many Democrats received Abramoff monies. President Bush, for example, received $6,000 from Abramoff. Patrick Kennedy, on the other hand, received $42,500 and Harry […]

Democrats and Republicans alike are send back donations from lobbyist Jack Abramoff. As soon as the Democrats have all returned their loot you can expect Abramoff to be made out to be a Republican lacky and symptomatic of corruption of the Republican party. In truth the only thing wrong with that statement is that it […]
