Dick Cheney to quit after elections?
I like Dick Cheney and have since since he was a Senator calling BS on the anti-gunners trying to ban the “plastic” Glock. Now as the VP I like him better than “the man” himself because of his rock solid presence, no nonsense voting record and calm demeanor all of which do him credit even though his polls don’t reflect well. But I’m also not surprised to read that he may quit after the mid-term elections. The press and Democrats will likely rejoice in his departure but what they’ll miss, at least initially, is our rejoicing when GW makes a good selection (please not another Harriet Myers!) because that will essentially decide the 2008 nominee. Though looking around the field there seems a dearth of good honestly conservative candidates.
My only fear is that “the party” will put itself over the principles of the party and GW will nominate a knuckle head like McCain.
