I’m disappointed that we’re not 50th. Why the heck should my tax dollars fund “reproductive services” and give poor people free contraceptives? Why is this the governments responsibility? Grrr……
If you can’t afford contraceptives then go watch cable TV since even the poorest in America seem to be able to afford that. Could consider getting a job or an education but I’m sure that’s asking too much.

Yes getting a job or an education is asking too much. They would then lose their unemployment and education , they would probably want us to pay for that too.

I have never been opposed to giving the capable a hand up nor the incapable a hand out. But to give the capable a hand out is a disservice not only them those of us paying for it but those receiving. The old axiom about not buying the cow when you’re getting the milk for free seems to apply here. (Though that’s not what most of us think of when reading it…) Why get an education and a better job when someone is paying your way without having to?
There was a recent hubbub out of Africa where someone noted that all the food aid to Africa lessed the crisis for their governents so that the governments weren’t even trying to teach farming or get local food production up. Why should they?
