Trouble on the Chocolate Farm

I’ve seen these kids on a couple of talk shows, real American Dream entrepreneurs who even won the Entrepreneur of the Year award from Ernst & Young. As a matter of fact they’ve apparently gotten big enough to show on the competition’s radar. The reation? Russell Stover sent them a cease-and-desist demand to stop using the word “sampler”. Thank goodness Red Lobster isn’t offering any chocolate items in their Seafood Sampler. Or Papa Joe’s, where we had lunch Sunday, they have an Italian Sampler. I’m pretty sure I’ve even ordered a Bullet Sampler on occasion.

But what’s the key here? The fact that it has Chocolate in the product? Or in product title? Because the Whitman Sampler doesn’t have “chocolate” in it’s title. Oh, but we must protect the public. I’m certain there are little old ladies have gone to the website and ordered a Chocolate Farm Sampler expecting to receive a Whitman Sampler. It could happen….

Anyway, in this day and age where words such as Start, Windows and “you’ve got mail” are sacred cows we shouldn’t be surprised to find Sampler in the crowd.

I would suggest a quick trip to the Chocolate Farm to acquire a Chocolate Farm Sampler would be about the best encouragement these kids could get.

Outside of sending cash to their lawyers.
