John Kerry Supports, Opposes Border Fence

Sen. John Kerry joined most of his Democratic colleagues last week in voting to build a wall along 370 miles of the U.S.-Mexican border.

But he now says that after the wall is built it should be taken down as soon as possible.

“I voted for it,” Kerry acknowledged Friday while speaking to the New England Council breakfast.

But in quotes picked up by the Boston Herald, the Massachusetts Democrat added: “If I were making the long-term decision, I’d announce, you know, hopefully it’s a temporary measure, and we can take it down as soon as we have enough people” to guard the border.

Oh, where do you start… I think he only wants to build even that short 370 mile segment so that we have jobs for all those “guest workers”… and since we have to show that the short wall actually works the “guest workers” will at least be off welfare while the wall goes up, then back down, so they can all claim a political victory.

I don’t care which party it is - build the fence! Spending money on people and technology may be fine but all it will accomplish is, exactly as I said above, a political victory for both parties. But both parties, contrary to the will of the American people and the law of the United States don’t want to stem the illegal invasion and the destruction of America - though both for different reasons. And its easy to quietly stop funding people and technology later, when America isn’t looking, than it is to tear down a wall which would make enough of a mess someone would see it.

Never make a permenant solution when a temporary one that auto-destructs is more politically expendient.
