Trouble on the Chocolate Farm

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

I’ve seen these kids on a couple of talk shows, real American Dream entrepreneurs who even won the Entrepreneur of the Year award from Ernst & Young. As a matter of fact they’ve apparently gotten big enough to show on the competition’s radar. The reation? Russell Stover sent them a cease-and-desist demand to […]

Indiana Ranges

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

Thanks to WRH who spurred me to finally create the Indiana Ranges page I’ve been contemplating for so long. There isn’t much there, mostly links to other indexes, but it’s a start and a logical next page view after Central Indiana Gunshops. Anyone with additional suggestions can drop me an email or post in […]

Bloomberg is an Idiot

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

Speaking of anti-gun “republicans’ New York’s number 1 RINO is sueing several out of state gunshops after New York hired private investigators to conduct “straw purchase” stings in other states. Heck, they aren’t all even contiguous states! Since this is Federal law they’re dealing with I’m rather surprised New York has […]

Mexico Threatens Suits Over Guard Patrols

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

You know it’s really hard to keep the compassion with these idiots running Mexico acting the way they do.
We want to enforce enacted law in the United States and Mexico wants to sue us? No wonder there are Americans grabbing their guns and heading for the border! Could it be that this […]

The Skin Cancer Epidemic

Monday, May 15th, 2006

So-called “awareness” of UV is at an all time high as is the sale and use of heavy sun screen creams yet there is a skin cancer epidemic underway in the US. Could they be mistaking about UV? And what about the incredible high occurance of depression? Is all this sun screen use and […]

Are you sitting comfortably?

Monday, May 15th, 2006

Though I have often said “today’s common sense is tomorrows Company Policy” implying the increasing inability of people to think for themselves bu I think this is going a bit too far.

U.S. Suspends Arms Sales to Venezuela

Monday, May 15th, 2006

The U.S. has suspended arms sales to Venezuela which buys arms from Russia and China anyway. Anything Chavez is buying from U.S. producers is because Russia or China’s stuff sucks or its for their own internal use versus for redistribution to various “people’s armies” throughout South and Central America.

Treo 700P

Monday, May 15th, 2006

Yes! Finally Palm is announcing the Treo 700p which is based on the PalmOS rather than Windows. Though several of the the problems I’ve had with my 700w have settled out the simple fact that I have to reboot my phone sticks in my craw.
Users can enjoy some of the same features […]

Get New Cellphones?

Monday, May 15th, 2006

I find it amuzing that a “secret government source” is saying to get new cellphones. I have to wonder which is preferable: old cellphones that are easier to listen in on or the new ones that track your movements via GPS? Better yet, let all the bad guys get their evil plans recorded and […]

Brazil’s wave of violence

Monday, May 15th, 2006

I’d bet $5 that the wave of violence in Brazil is directly linked to Huga Chavez. One of the historic mechanisms used to incite a “people’s revolution” is just this type of unrest. Too bad no one in the media will persue it. Unless it was Americans inciting unrest somewhere like, say, Venezuela or […]

McCain’s Constitution

Friday, May 12th, 2006

It is hard to better explain my utter dislike of John McCain than George Will’s commentary on one of McCain’s recent radio appearances. If it’s McCain vs Clinton in 2008 it really won’t matter who wins because everyone else loses.

US Historical Documents Online

Friday, May 12th, 2006

The University of Oklahoma College of Law has a nice online collection; A Chronology of US Historical Documents. Well worth some time while waiting for the rain to pass. As many times as I’ve read it I still find Patrick Henry particularly stirring.

NPR : Sharing One Secret to Happiness

Friday, May 12th, 2006

I seldom enjoy such things but this short commentary on variety not necessarily being the spice of life is worth a few moments of contemplation.

Email Client Roundup

Friday, May 12th, 2006

I don’t tend to read roundups of applications for operating systems I don’t run but the Tech Web rouding of non-Microsoft email clients caught my attention for a rather singular reason. Two of the clients in the list are Pegasus and Eudora. Now I’m not a big Eudora fan myself, remembering my experience with the […]

Media Opposes Salary Disclosure Rules

Friday, May 12th, 2006

It’s ok to make some industries disclose what their top people make but when it comes to media companies, those who are first in line to point to high salaries of others, it’s a case of show me yours but I’m not showing you mine.

Artillery of the Press

Friday, May 12th, 2006

“During the course of administration, and in order to disturb it, the artillery of the press has been leveled against us, charged with whatsoever its licentiousness could devise or dare.” —Thomas Jefferson

Malkin Vents

Thursday, May 11th, 2006

I love Michelle Malkin especially when she’s venting on the useless U.N..

Catproof your computer.

Thursday, May 11th, 2006

I can think of several other brand names that PawSense could be sold under but it’s just easier to blame the cat.

Saab Aero X

Nice. But does it get good mileage?

Customers Have Fill-Up Frenzy After Gas Price Mistake

Tuesday, May 9th, 2006

I always miss the good sales.

Governments Can’t Agree on Iran?

Tuesday, May 9th, 2006

Duh… Deja vu. Not like the last, oh… 6000 years of human history didn’t see this one coming. And the last one. And the one before that, and… oh, never mind.

U.S. tipping Mexico to Minuteman patrols

Tuesday, May 9th, 2006

It is so good to know that the Bush Administration takes illegal immigration so seriously. They take it so seriously, as a matter of fact, that they’re keeping the Mexican Government updated on where the citizen patrols are patroling. Isn’t that sort of like the Sheriff telling the local bartenders where the town cops […]

Hacker Gets Almost 5 Years in Prison

Tuesday, May 9th, 2006

When you break it down this guy is only serving six and a half minutes per computer he broke into.
I guess the efficient criminal should be rewarded for his efficiency.
Personally these guys are a prefect example of why we should reinstate public hangings.
