Flash? Of the Obvious…

Wednesday, June 14th, 2006

… but the headline gives such a great visual - VMWare eats Microsoft’s lunch again, steals toys, cuts in line

Inside the Beltway: Gun Myths

Wednesday, June 14th, 2006

Interesting little Gun Myth blurb in the Inside the Beltway - Nation/Politics at the Washington Times (reg required or bugmenot):
Don’t tell anti-gun crusader Sarah Brady, but firearms sales in the United States remain on the rise, while contrary to popular belief, gun-related crime, suicide and gun accidents are on the decline.

Woman Weds Cobra

Wednesday, June 14th, 2006

Just so that you know what’s acceptable in the so-called world’s largest democracy.

Airshow Pictures on Flickr

Wednesday, June 14th, 2006

Like airshows? Check out Flickr: Photos from LD50…. I especially like the shots with P-51, F-4, F-16 and F-22’s flying formation.

Our Flag

Wednesday, June 14th, 2006

“It was leadership here at home that gave us strong American influence abroad, and the collapse of imperial Communism. Great nations have responsibilities to lead, and we should always be cautious of those who would lower our profile, because they might just wind up lowering our flag.” —Ronald Reagan

Hastert Deals Blow to Immigration Bill?

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

When I saw the headline Hastert Deals Blow to Immigration Bill I was afraid he’d caved somehow. The Senate bill is horrid which is probably why the media brands its being slowed as a “blow”.
I would rather see the whole thing go down than a compromise that gets anywhere near the Senate version.

North American Super-State

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

I’ve read about this a few times but the WND article carries some additional information I’d not yet seen. Anyone who wonders why Bush opposes his own base to refuse to secure our borders has only to read about the SPP agreement to understand why. And as much as the partisan bickering goes […]

Why Startups Condense in America

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

An excellent essay on why technology adventurers do it in America. There are advantages to being a unilateral super power especially when, as they say in business, you only have to do it better than your competitors. Because no one does it perfectly.
America is often a shining example of good […]

Reno Judge: Was it a 5.56 NATO?

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

OK, this is going to be difficult to say in a delicate and circumspect way but here it goes….
A Judge in Reno is sniped in his office and
“He is conscious and talking with his family,”
First and foremost I hope they 1) nail the assassin’s hide to the courtroom wall, and 2) the judge recovers […]

The AMA

Monday, June 12th, 2006

Does no one else see the irony in proposing a soda tax because it might prevent obesity in kids yet they promote teen sex guides which might increase sexually transmitted diseases?
I guess the AMA prefers their teen sluts skinny…
“Oh but it’s all about CHOICE!”
Unless they don’t like your choice […]

China Auto Exports to U.S.

Monday, June 12th, 2006

Why is it no surprise that George Soros is backing the sale of the $3600 Chinese auto in the US for $20,000? Why would an “environmental champion” back the sale of a car made in a non-Kyoto country in a Kyoto country? Even more interestingly Soros is showing his disregard for intellectual property, […]

Leno Wednesday

Monday, June 12th, 2006

If you love fireworks then Wednesday night might be a good night to watch Leno when Ann Coulter will square off with George Carlin.
I should bring my Ann Coulter doll home to watch it with me….

Why Drive So Far?

Monday, June 12th, 2006

I am frequently asked why I drive so far, daily for over 6 years. Usually I answer with something about crowding, about being able to shoot, about privacy back in the woods.. But now I’ve discovered that a guy named Alton Lindsey wrote the answer for me in 1969 and neglected to tell me!
The uppermost […]

The Dutch Pedophile Party

Monday, June 12th, 2006

Dutch pedophiles have become so emboldened that they are actually creating their own political party (more on News Busters). Specifically they’re wanting to lower the age of consent - imagine that?
Isn’t that like safe crackers demading a limit on the complexity of the safe mechanism? Or computer hackers demanding a ban on the […]

Rage Has a New Name

Monday, June 12th, 2006

Gary Varvel hits one out of the park in his posting Rage Has a New Name. And anyone who calls Gary’s point of view intolerant only has to read the comments posted below his entry to see the opposition quickly resort to name calling, questioning Gary’s intelligence and insistence that because Gary doesn’t have […]

Perpetual Childhood

Monday, June 12th, 2006

. . the species of oppression by which democratic nations are menaced is unlike anything that ever before existed in the world. . . . Above this race of men stands an immense and tutelary power, which takes upon itself alone to secure their gratifications and to watch over their fate. That power is absolute, […]

Democratic Equality

Monday, June 12th, 2006

. . . democratic communities have a natural taste for freedom; left to themselves, they will seek it, cherish it, and view any privation of it with regret. But for equality their passion is ardent, insatiable, incessant, invincible; they call for equality in freedom; and if they cannot obtain that, they still call for equality […]

Clinton: We Were Right About Global Warming

Monday, June 12th, 2006

Bill Clinton is helping his buddy Al Gore sell his propoganda movie by publicly saying that He and Al were right.
“It is now generally recognized that while Al Gore and I were ridiculed, we were right about global warming,” Clinton said at a fundraiser for the Florida Democratic Party. “It’s a serious problem. It’s […]

Palm Trees are Dangerous!

Monday, June 12th, 2006

What can I say to this other than our British cousins have totally lost their blooming minds. I guess it’s not like that is news.
Time to add Nanny State as an entry category since Raising Our Childrent To Be Panzy World Government Slaves is too long.

Headline Fun

Monday, June 12th, 2006

Some headlines just make a Right Winger like me laugh out loud with glee. Witness: Judge wants psychologist to assess Baldwin. I knew it!
But my moment of bliss was short lived since the article illustrates how Lefties like Baldwin and Bassinger espouse such lofty causes in public yet are privately […]

UK Women told ‘drink less’ to Avoid Rape

Monday, June 12th, 2006

The police “across the pond” have had a brilliant idea and are suggesting women should ‘drink less’ to avoid rape. I guess they thought “don’t hang out in sleezy pubs half naked at wee hours dirty dancing with strangers” would prevent the police “across the pond” from finding dates. Or, worse, would be […]

SF Mission District Nun Raped

Monday, June 12th, 2006

A nun was raped in San Franscisco’s Mission District last week and I’ve seen little to no news coverage of what would have been an international incedent had the nun been a Moslem, homosexual, or illegal immigrant.. I can’t decide if this stark contrast in coverages is because it of the “Christian” association, […]

San Fran Ban == Illegal

Monday, June 12th, 2006

San Francisco’s attempt to ban handguns in the city has been found to be illegal.
In today’s ruling, Judge James Warren said California law, which authorizes police agencies to issue handgun permits, implicitly prohibits a city or county from banning handgun possession by law-abiding adults.
But before celebrating too much make sure to note the part […]

Dixie Chicks Cancel Dixie

Thursday, June 8th, 2006

While the new Dixie Chick album may be on top of the charts (despite little to no air play) it looks like they’re having trouble selling their tour. As a matter of fact they’ve even canceled the Memphis show. At least Canada likes them, I suppose.

Protests paralyse Chile’s education system

Wednesday, June 7th, 2006

For some reason I read about a bunch of kids organizing protests that paralyse Chile’s education system and the first two things I think of is who put this “rights” nonsense into their heads to and how are Chavez and ANSWER involved? Probably the ones on the back end helping organize kiddie protests between […]
