Editing films’ profanity violates copyright

Obviously someone has never heard of fair use. After this past weekends trips to the box office its no wonder people want to find movies with good stories (something that tends to be lacking in modern fare) and clean out the language and nudity so the family can watch them together.

Everytime I watch a movie it amazes me how much unnecessary cursing there is. So many movies today seem like they’ve gone back through the script just looking for where they can throw in some gratutious curse words without taking into account that they are completely inappropriate in the context where they’re putting them. In those circumstances these vaulted curse words become speed bumps the audience must endure rather than adding any type of “creative expression”.
