Cat-killing raccoons on prowl
Olympia, Washington has a problem, raccoons are killing cats and there was even one incident of raccoons ganging up and hauling off a small dog (who escaped). So what do these brave souls do? They have an “emotional” meeting, build coops for their cats and buy pepper spray.
To make things more ludicrous the local animal control plans to “monitor” the situation while the neighborhoods create “raccoon watch” patrols.
The Wal-Mart’s in Olympia don’t carry .22 rifles?
Or, do the besieged residents simply lack the fortitude to go against local ordinances? Or, do they lack the emotional wherewithal to actually kill rogue wildlife?
Maybe Washington needs a “castle doctrine” law that includes wildlife?
