Election 2006: Pelosi Says She Would Drain GOP ‘Swamp’
I’ve noticed a few Republicans actually pointing out that even though a local Democrat candidate may not be that far off the issues from them the Dem candidates come with some serious Washington baggage, chiefly Nancy Pelosi. Just how bad is that?
“We believe in the marketplace,” Pelosi said of Democrats, then drew a contrast with Republicans. “They have only rewarded wealth, not work.”
Pelosi and the Dems admit they believe in work harder not smarter. And that if you work harder, despite the outcome or utility of that work, you should be rewarded for it. I have to ask if someone works stupidly and wastefully yet is rewarded for that work why should they ever bother to learn how to do something correctly? And she continues…
“We must share the benefits of our wealth” beyond the privileged few, she added.
Now I know there are people with wealth that didn’t have to work for it, the Senate is a great example, but somewhere along the line before they got that wealth someone put hard work into it. And it does not belong to anyone else to be taken for public use.
Will people always do what is right and just with their money in the eyes of their neighbor? Not usually as witnessed by the urban keep-up-with-the-jones mentality. Doing well breeds jealously from far more people than it breeds respect.
That is also why we say the best revenge is living well. Democrats obviously don’t it at their expense.
