Honda DN-01
I’ve never been much of a fan of either constant velocity transmissions or Honda’s Hondamatic clutchless shifting but I’d sure be interested in finding out how it all comes together in the concept DN-01 recently shown in Tokoyo. It looks part scooter, part CB-R with a few CB-F charateristics thrown in and powered by a modern crusier V-twin. The DN-01 isn’t likely to ever show up in your local Honda dealership. But features and innovations from past concept models such as the DN-01 have lead to production designs like the VFR, Pacifica and ST’s. We’ll get the DN-01, but as small feature pieces of other models.

Sweet ! I love the seat , but would still rather have a cruiser , can’t even imagine the price tag of that brand new. I’d guess between 15 and 17K

More likely traditional motorcycle straight up or slightly forward. But remember the guy sitting on it is not representitive of westerners since his arms will be shorter than ours… he may be sitting in a sport-tour position where you or I, with our long arms, would be slouched cruiser style.
What I get from the text is this is purely a concept bike and won’t hit the dealerships in this form. And frankly I don’t think the US market for such a combination would be great. At the same time I have to admit I did like the Pacifica at the time and the fact that the ST1300 is going strong speaks to the fact others did, too.

Oh and Honda is billing it as an automatic crusier…
