Woman, 92, Dies in Shootout With Police
Police serving a drug related search warrant on a 92 year old woman had to shoot her to serve the warrant. Besides the implication of the police acting on bad information and shooting a harmless 92 year old woman (harmless like granny in Every Which Way But Loose apparently).
Much to the dismay of the police the old woman hit all 3 officers when she opened fire. Seems to me they’d have been better off to employ her at their police academy.
I can only hope that what ever justice is even possible after such a screw up is served.
And recommend any 90-somethings who believe they’d act similarly should upgrade to the next larger caliber.
UPDATE: The local police chief calls the shooting Tragic, Unfortunate
“They kicked her door down talking about drugs, there’s no drugs in that house. And they realize now, they’ve got the wrong house,” Dozier said. “I’m mad as hell.” Officials say they had the correct house and that the warrant they had was legal.
So now “it was legal” is justification for killing a 92 year old woman? I’m typically not one to defend “criminals” but there is also the whole inconvenient assumption of innocents thing. What gets me is the whole “no-knock” warrant and storm trooper tactics which gave us such successful police actions as Waco, Texas.
