Toyota set to overtake GM in 2007
My last few GM vehicles are sure examples of why Toyota may outsell GM in 2007. Yet in the article GM is whining that GM suffers from a bad rap of being gas guzzlers rather than address that they do really stupid things like make intake manifolds out of plastic that must be replaced every 2-3 years due to erosion. Problems resulting from poor engineering put into practice with poorer materials. Or worse, good engineering with implemented with poor materials.
I’ve stated it to friends and family already; this 2003 Grand Prix GT I bought for my wife is the last GM vehicle I may ever own due to the high maintenance costs of things that should not have required replacement so soon.

My 2001 chevy 1500 ext. cab 4×4 , is another reason to choose anything but a chevy. At 40k the electric window motor went out, at 60K the brakes were shot all new rotors needed and now at 70K they still are not right, oh yea and now the other window motor is needing replaced. I normally buy Ford trucks but this one was a change of pace for me and constant hounding by friends who said chevy was better , I don’t think so at all , my last ford gave me a 124K without any problems , and I traded that one in for this one , big mistake.
