China trying to poison Americans?
Some followup on the poisoned pet food, some are asking is China trying to poison Americans and their pets? Reading up on Chinese food imports is rather scary considering that the practice of falsely labeling containers is so widespread to get around inspections. This is a part of the issue where pressure needs applied to the Chinese government in addition to stepping up enforcement on the receiving end.
The Chinese government has stated that US companies are also partly to blame for the contamination because they do not properly set the expectation with the Chinese vendor and then don’t properly inspect what they get. To this I have to say I agree especially considering how well some of the involved American companies have behaved.
In the end this is part of our ‘Wal-Mart’ mentality and we’ve no one to blame but ourselves.

Which is why we buy more of our food from the Amish than W-M and why we expanded our garden so that I could can more this summer. I put up more strawberry jam today, btw. :> I am thankful that your Grandma Kerns taught me how to can and freeze food when I was a young bride!
