Pirates
Yes, I admit that we fell prey to the marketing machine and went to see Pirates 3 last friday. Upon reflection of all the movies we saw during the week we decided that Next (another of Philip K. Dick’s stories) was the hands down best of the three with Pirates and Spidey tied for 3rd place. But back to pirates… the Daily Mail has a great write up The Real Jack Sparrow: He would have eaten Johnny Depp for breakfast which goes into some of the history on which Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow character is based. Though it didn’t take 2 hours and 45 minutes to read the article I believe it had more substance than the movie itself. Still, if you have seen the first 2 and 1/2 way liked them you’ll want to see Pirates 3 simply for closure and it was still better that Lucas’s last effort.
