Rapidly Moving Federal Gun Control (HR 2640)!
In the legislative background noise over the immigration bills the New Federal Gun Control (HR 2640) is quietly moving from the House to the Senate. This bill moved through the House due to some Democrat slight of hand as the bill went from dead to being quietly passed by a voice vote in 3 hours. I am loath to cast aspersions on the National Rifle Association but I find I have to whole-heartedly agree with the GOA’s assesment of this sneak attack on our Second Amendment rights:
Its passage in the House is a case study in backroom deal making, unholy alliances and deceit. A sausage factory in a third world country with no running water has nothing on today’s U.S. Congress.
When the NRA backs a bill with the lead sponsors Rep. Carolyn McCarthy and Sen. Chuck Schumer it’s time to cry foul.
