Chicken in Every Pot: Dem 2007
The Democrat front runners just can’t get away from trying to buy American votes. Hillary Clinton was offering $5000 to each newborn (can they vote now?) and good old “I’m in last place by Gore” Edwards is now offering free college. Strangely he reveals his Marxist idealogies and contradicts himself in the same quote:
“I think if we want to fund the things that I think are important to share in prosperity, then people who have done well in this country, including me, have more of a responsibility to give back,” he said. Later, he added: “There are no free meals.”
First, Senator, no one who makes their own way “owes” anything to anyone that didn’t participate. Second, if there are “no free meals” you expect those getting the free college education to use it to become wealthy enough to be taxed to death so they can fund the next group. How long do you expect it to take for the students to realize this and quite trying to become wealthy? After all, what if they all chose to become public school teachers?
Lastly, public education in this country has been such a dismal failure why in the heck would we want to give that all powerful Teachers Union our kids for 4 more years???
