Citi Merchant services has frozen transactions of the popular accessories and firearms dealer CDNN due to their selling firearms in “non-face-to-face” transactions. It would seem to me Citi is run by idiots when you consider how long CDNN has been a mail order company. Add to it that they apparently have no understanding of […]

I know when I’ve had a hard day a bag of Doritos or a Klondike bar really makes things better. And now there is research as to why. I wonder how long before someone like Frito-Lay or Doritos adds “Relieves Stress” to their label….

An interesting read, Why Ethanol Production Will Drive World Food Prices Even Higher in 2008.
Oil producing countries could produce more oil so the price goes down. As gasoline drops the amount of grain being diverted to ethanol will go down as ethanol becomes less economically viable. Then the cost of grain will follow.
Could […]

This is a special occasion where I find myself in wholehearted agreement with both Romney and McCain at the same time:
“And I just don’t think those liberal answers are what America is looking for, not for the Republican Party or for any party, for that matter,” Romney said in Fort Myers, Fla.
To paraphrase Romney “McCain […]

The story of two kids sticking their tongues to flag poles is funny enough but what really got me laughing was one of the comments posted to the story:
I’m confused. How did this happen with global warming? I mean, the flagpole shoulda oughta been under 23 feet of water by now with the ice caps […]

The number of bikes I passed today as I enjoyed the 40 degree temps with a 60 mile trek. The Missus was certain I’d be the only idiot out on a bike today but I knew better! And after passing a pair of Goldwings within 15 minutes I was less than surprised (the other […]

The latest article from one of my all time favorite commentators, The Champs Elysees Republicans by Chris Horner of the Competitive Enterprise Institute and published on Human Events which is led by another of my all time favorites, Jeb Babbin.
Now speaking of Jeb Babbin… if you’ve been watching the Republican primary season closely and can’t […]

Wow, same story, different year and bigger checks. The Democrats who where whining about how much President Bush’s tax rebates would “cost” (a euphemism for “we have to give it back”) the tax payers are just fine with it as long as they can give $300 a head to people who pay no […]

I remember how great a gadget the original Iomega parallel port Zip Drive was. As a matter of fact my first copy of Windows 95 was installed from my Zip Disk as the entire Windows 95 Upgrade CD would fit on one Zip Disk if it was compressed (with the completely unrelated Zip compression utility). […]

I find this little prefab house interesting partly because of the 70’s decor. But also as a counter to the current bigger is better mode that has had a huge part in driving the current real estate problem. Now I’m not typically one to talk about what people “need” and I won’t where it […]

In another move certain to bolster those who believe Britain is not only a police state but also doomed as an individual cultural identity a woman who continued to sell produce by the POUND is up for trial by jury. This is the type of sell-out to foreign interests many in the United […]

It is a sad day in conservative politics when the one man with anything close to conservative credentials drops out of the primary race. But is all lost? Maybe not as he positions himself for the VP slot. More power to him…

Communists must be either incredibly optimistic or totally insane (I tend toward the latter). If you find one that doesn’t think he can’t succeed where every other Communist failed then their party card should be revoked.

If you grill you need to check out Exploding Unicorn’s License to Grill. Bonus if you’ve ever lived in an apartment complex with insane rules. The article is also proof that when such rules get stupid people get creative. Though most of the creativity here is literary..
I’m not a master chef, but I […]

If this surprises you then you lead a horribly sheltered, unimaginative and unobservant life. So don’t bother reading it, it’ll only make you certain it’s just another fantasy conspiracy because to believe it would mean pulling your head out and doing something. So go back to your big screen and forget you’ve read this post. […]

Students in Wisconsin, using a telescope in New Mexico owned by a college in Michigan discovered asteroid 2008 AZ28 looking at the pictures on the internet. Does this constitute some sort of cosmic alignment or something?

It has been announced that Sun has acquired MySQL AB. Thankfully it wasn’t Oracle who were making overtures last year and scaring the heck out of a lot of people including myself. Reading how this will effect me as a serious mysql user I’m not overly concerned. And despite several, I mean SEVERAL, missteps […]

So they’ve finally admitting what every WalMart shopper knows, the inflation rate has been heading up for quite awhile. Naturally the fingers point to fuel which, along with bio-fuel demands on grain, is one of the driving factors pushing food costs higher not only in the United States but globally.
But here is something that makes […]

I have to wonder if these mysterious counterfeit $100 bills have anything to do wtih the rapid devaluation of US currency over the last 18 months. There were certainly concerns about press technology given to Iran many years ago..?

Those of the Global Warming religion are so upset by some interesting cooling trends they’re speaking out that the global is still warming despite some of the evidence we see to the contrary. Despite the fact that 2008 is projected to be the coolest since 2000.. it even snowed in Baghdad which hasn’t seen snow […]
