Handgun Carry Laws
For many years there existed a website at the address of Packing.org which contained a database of state firearms laws on concealed handgun carry, reciprocation, etc.. It has only just come to my attention that this primary source of data disappeared last fall.
The Internet and firearms enthusiasts being what they are no less than 4 new sites have appeared to not only fill the void left by the demise of Packing.org, but have also dramatically expanded the scope of information at our finger tips. In no particular order:
HandGunLaw.US
OpenCarry.org
CarryConcealed.net
USACarry.com
All of these seem to cover some common ground but each also has unique features as the names largely imply. Each is worth investigating for yourself and confirming data among them all might also be useful.
But always remember that sites like these are run largely by volunteers. While the information is very useful it isn’t a substitute for checking the laws yourself. Otherwise, they’re not authoritative and the cost of being wrong is quite high.
