An interesting read, Why Ethanol Production Will Drive World Food Prices Even Higher in 2008.

Oil producing countries could produce more oil so the price goes down. As gasoline drops the amount of grain being diverted to ethanol will go down as ethanol becomes less economically viable. Then the cost of grain will follow.

Could it be that food is the weapon of the new cold war?
