The Trouble With Treos

I’m hitting close to 2 years with my Palm Treo 700W so no surprise when it finally came apart this past weekend. Thankfully we keep insurance on all our phones (company plan) so by Tuesday I had a spanking new one in my hands and all my data sync’d back up.

One of the reasons I was excited to get the replacement was that I’ve not been able to reliably use either of my Bluetooth headsets for many months. Actually, I had resorted to keeping a standard 2.5mm corded headset in the car. The last software upgrade to the phone basically broke it so that the Bluetooth transceiver simply turns off or disconnects the headset for no apparent reason and I have to reboot the phone to get it to work again.

So one of the first things I do with the new one is get out the headsets and charge them up, setup the partnership with the device and all is good.

As long as I’m constantly using the headset. Otherwise even the new Treo has the exact same problem.

Time to get something different.

Update: Looks like I’m not alone
