The Failure of Weather Models
I’ve said for some time when the weatherman cannot accurately model the weather a few days out why should anyone be foolish enough to believe their projections of global warming doom 10, 20 or 50 years out? Even near term models such as this hurricane season are so abysmally incorrect even the AP notes hurricane season outlooks of little use. That’s certainly a turn around from the doom and gloom over the rising incidents of more frequent and more powerful hurricanes due to global warming that was all over the news after New Orleans. A few years later and quieter than even normal hurricane seasons since then have really put a damper on such fear mongering though it hasn’t abated entirely.
A few years ago you’d never gotten such an admission from a member of the media on the failure of weather modeling of any sort let alone models so overused by themselves over the past few years to fear monger global warming doom. So such an admission now leads me to ask how many more years before the media looks at the fact that the global warming models of only a few years ago have been as inaccurate in that they have not correctly predicted the average temperatures of this year or last. And if those averages, which NOAA data says are actually FALLING, are incorrect this early into their doomsday model where are they going to be in 10 years when they said we’d all be doomed to die in rising sea water if we don’t “act now!”.
