Obama to Seek New Assault Weapons Ban

Ya’ll were warned and warned and now its almost here: ABC News: Obama to Seek New Assault Weapons Ban. The upside is the last time they tried this stuff, 1994, they lost the House and you can bet Nancy Pelosi isn’t as ignorant of history as her constituents. At the same time, there is no time like the present - they could run with this, and likely pass it, and hope the electorate forgets it by November 2010. But I doubt it in light of how hard fought the 1994 ban was, and how much effort went into repealing it before it finally sunset in 2004.

    “As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons,” Holder told reporters.

    Did I miss something ? there never was a ban on the sale of assault weapons , only on importation of them , but we all know where Obama is going with this , he wants a total ban on ALL gun sales !
