Oakalla Covered Bridge

Monday, May 28th, 2007

The Oakalla Covered Bridge is just west of Greencastle, Indiana and like most covered bridges in Putnam county it is over the Big Walnut. We had attempted to visit this bridge last fall when several other bridges were added to my Covered Bridges gallery but we turned around when the road turned to gravel. […]

Valentine’s Day 2007

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

I’ve uploaded some images from today to the gallery Valentine’s Day 2007. One thing about snow is it does make for some interesting pictures. Too bad I can’t safely get down to the river to get more.
While I was at it I threw some photos from last week’s snow in a gallery as well.

More Header Graphics

Friday, December 15th, 2006

Since none of the last batch of header graphics seemed to meet with approval here are some new options created from pictures I took during the “Last Last Hurrah”. Some were taken at Cataract Falls and a couple are from the Rolling Stone covered bridge.

Cataract Falls

Friday, December 15th, 2006

One of the “Last Last Harrah” days (Thanksgiving thru the seven days) I made it down to Cataract Falls. It’s been many years since I’d been to Cataract but it hadn’t changed much, though the water was a bit higher in the lake below making the lower falls appear lower than they are during the […]

Header graphic time, again…

Sunday, November 5th, 2006

With the changing seasons and the abundance of new subject materials it’s time to create a new header graphic. Between the fall colors, the acquisition of the Shadow, and the new covered bridge images I tried to find something that might encompass a bit of them all. So, here are the candidates for this round:

First […]

Covered Bridge Gallery Additions

Thursday, November 2nd, 2006

For those who don’t want to wade through my Monday’s Ride post to ferret out the interesting links here are the two new Covered Bridge galleries created with pictures taken Monday. The first is the newly rebuilt Bridgeton Covered Bridge in Bridgeton, Indiana. The second is the Roseville Covered Bridge a mile or so […]

Covered Bridges

Wednesday, October 4th, 2006

Tuesday was such a beautiful day the missus and I took advantage to visit some of the covered bridges in the county we’d never been to. You’ll find the new additions in the Covered Bridges gallery. The new bridges are the Edna Collings, Houck and Dick Huffman bridges.
While out beating around the back waters of […]

Let the switch begin

Wednesday, July 12th, 2006

As of this hour the DNS records have all been updated to point my domains (see Site URL’s lower right) to this, the new site, and over the next few hours everyone will come here instead of the old site/server.
The visible changes aren’t that many, but, there are certainly a few. The most […]

Upgrades Underway

Tuesday, July 4th, 2006

I dislike double posting but I’m almost finished bringing up a new server and moving all of my site over to it. While the main site isn’t yet on the new server anyone wishing a preview may visit the site under construction. The main site isn’t where the fun stuff is, though there are […]

Indiana Ranges

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

Thanks to WRH who spurred me to finally create the Indiana Ranges page I’ve been contemplating for so long. There isn’t much there, mostly links to other indexes, but it’s a start and a logical next page view after Central Indiana Gunshops. Anyone with additional suggestions can drop me an email or post in […]

Lightening

Friday, April 14th, 2006

I think I’ll use this image in the header for awhile since it seems appropriate for Indiana in April. Other images I caputured during the storm are in the storm gallery.

Which Header Graphic?

Thursday, April 13th, 2006

Spring is in full swing now so maybe it’s time the header graphic above had something without snow in it. Looking through all of the vacation photos I found a number of images any one of which would make for a good header graphic. But before choosing one here they all are….

The Alamo #1

The […]

Site Upgrade

Sunday, January 8th, 2006

The site has now been upgraded to WordPress 2.0. Sadly my favorite plugin doesn’t yet work with the 2.0 version. Fortunately the 1.5 themes work with 2.0 though I noticed a dozen or so other themes I want to checkout so maybe I’ll finally dump the Kubrick theme for something more interesting. Or maybe not…..

Winter Graphic

Tuesday, December 20th, 2005

After a few weeks of insistence that my header graphic contain snow I’ve finally put up a new one. As before this image is from the neighborhood and was taken early 2005.
The previous Fall header:

The runners up were

I doubt I’ll leave it alone as I’m sure to take more pictures while on […]

Pointman’s Galleries :: Fall November, 2005

Monday, November 7th, 2005

The dominate color this fall has definately been orange.

New Header Graphic (again)

Monday, October 24th, 2005

While I liked my last header graphic the photo was taken in the spring and, well… this is fall. Fall colors are my second favorite photo-op next to the first greening of spring so as I work on collating my growing Fall 2005 image collection I found several that would work nicely in the […]

Covered Bridge Festival - Mansfield

Wednesday, October 19th, 2005

The pictures from our excursion to the Covered Bridge festival in Mansfield are now up. Most all of the images are of the mill and Racoon Creek rather than the bridge which was constantly full of people.

Autum Arrives

Sunday, October 16th, 2005

Looking back through pictures of last fall it seems that autum and the color changes are running a week later than in 2004. It doesn’t really mean anything other than I keep way to many pictures of way to many thing.
While digging through the images it occurred to me that the rippling creek […]

Celebrating 15 Years

Tuesday, September 20th, 2005

I’ve finally got the pictures from our short anniversary roadtrip uploaded. No small feat considering we took 613 pictures and I’ve published 351 in 5 galleries. It took awhile to upload 417 megs…

wasilij: Vaquero

Sunday, June 12th, 2005

Seems someone liked one of my Vaquero pictures so much it they pulled it from my site 524540 times before copying to his local server.
[Update: The site is in Russian, you can use the the fish to translate but not much text. ]

Redheads

Wednesday, April 6th, 2005

I would love to see the expressions on the faces of all the perverts that find my website with the search term redhead galleries. It is currently the number 2 search term (second only to enfield rifle) hitting me from Google. Bet that’s not what they’re looking for!

Wordpress Website’s Search Engine Spam

Thursday, March 31st, 2005

Oh how wonderful the Wordpress Website has been caught spamming Search Engines with hidden DIV’s of full of spam links. Google is dumping WordPress site links and hopefully Matt will realize the error of his ways and clean up his act before Google and the other search engines purge all WordPress generated sites. Including […]

E-Mail Reliability Sinking

Saturday, February 26th, 2005

I’ve received numerous complaints from our staff and clients in recent years on emails that never made it to their destination. Almost every time we can eventually track the missing messeges to anti-spam technology on the recipient’s servers.
It is finally becoming obvious to the rest of the (non-IT) world that the reliability of Email […]
