The US media has been circumspect concerning the events in Honduras this past week. Here we have a democratically elected leader who overstepped his constitutional bounds and was slapped down by the Honduran Supreme Court. Naturally the Dictators Club (United Nations) has also decried the ousting of Zelaya irregardless that it was lawfully done. The Obama administration, the Organization of American States, the World Bank and even Standard & Poors have all gotten in on the action. Comrade Chavez is even threatening military action.

Honduras is upholding the rule of law, something the left has been trying to tear down for years. It is my hope that the Honduran people can stick to their guns, figuratively speaking.

George Carlin is, well… George Carlin so if you’ve sensitive ears don’t press play.

He has to a large degree come to the right conclusion although much of his perspective is based on evolution-as-fact. But that makes this segment even more striking, that someone as rabidly liberal as Carlin, who’s belief in evolution is very obviously firmly entrenched - should come to basically what is considered the evil Conservative viewpoint - that to believe humans are effecting the earth as is claimed is the height of arrogance.

Isn’t it interesting how American education resembles the American auto industry due to union contracts 700 NYC teachers paid to do nothing that cannot be allowed back into the classroom for various reasons. It is bad enough watching the auto industry crumble under the weight of the unions but to watch the public employees hold their employer, the voters, hostage is ridiculous.

How many times have you found yourself telling someone “Google is your friend” when they ask you a question? I know I must say that to people on a daily basis. And it’s not necessarily that these people aren’t smart, just not tech - non techie people are not as likely to use Google to find answers to non-tech questions like “is it safe to give dogs cooked bones” or “how much is 23 Euros in US Dollars“.

Well, now you can help these folks remember they can ask these questions of Google rather than you by using Let me google that for you….

I’m wondering the same as I look at the well below average temps now and this time last year - and that this is the 2nd June in a row where 5 days of 7 call for rain. Last year it was July before we got more than 2 or 3 days of good weather in a row - which put a real damper on motorcycling….

… no analog television signal as of this Friday.. and unless they boost the digital signal power there is going to be hell to pay for those refusing to PAY for broadcast television. At 40 miles out to say digital is “spotty” would be an understatement. And unlike “snowy” weak analog signals digitals “static” is enough to drive you mad. If there isn’t an immediate improvement the millions who aren’t paying for cable or satellite are more likely to be lost as viewers. Not that this is ultimately a bad thing….

D.C. House Voting Rights Bill Nixed Due to Gun Provision

The Democrats killed their own D.C. House Voting Rights Bill due to an amendment that would effectively return DC’s 2nd Amendment rights. Choice quote….

“We will never give up on equal rights for our residents,” she said, insisting that pro-gun Democrats could have opposed the amendment without sustaining political damage

So… she wants “equal rights for our residents” but ONLY on the voting issue and SHAME on those “pro-gun” Democrats for PRESUMING “equal rights” should entail the entire Bill of Rights. Yeah, shame…..

At the same time as am matter of history DC essentially belongs to Congress to do with as they please and many of their own actions and laws reflect the dubious status of the District compared to the several States. I am certainly not hugely in favor of DC voting considering its foundational purpose it seems something of a conflict of interest. That said, its an all or nothing then with civil rights and if DC gets to own guns, they get to vote - if they get to vote, they get to own guns.

What the Democrats want is what they’ve always wanted and that is to impose their own view on what rights are actually “rights” and owning guns doesn’t stand with them. But allowing non-citizens to vote? Yeah, that’s ok….

72-year-old woman Tased

A 72-year-old woman was tased by an officer. Not agreeing with the woman’s actions toward the officer but clearly the officer was intimidated by this 4′ 11″ woman which only justified her contempt for him as a representative of “the law”. So now what did this officer gung-ho to write a speeding ticket accomplish but to cost the county money and potentially a lawsuit since the Taser usage guidelines recommend against using their product on the elderly? Obviously we can’t have anarchy on the high ways, but — oh wait, too late….
