ORF G1 Kits (aka Set 2)
I'm a sucker for the G1 though I'm not sure why, it's my favorite of the FAL variants. These kits were aquired fro Ohio Rapid Fire (ORF) through a Fal-Files Group Buy. Overall condition of these kits is good though there are few missing small parts. These kits are in some ways not as good as the pair from GunThings.com last spring. Both barrels appear to have good rifling and an expected amount of throat errosian so they will make for serviable rifles. With the market being what it is for these kits I'm very glad to have been able to get them at all. I think the most disappointing thing about these kits was the way they were packed, or more like thown in a box. A selector had come off one of the lowers and was just floating around in the box, I'm happy it arrived at all considering the beating the box took. The set with the newer stock style (the lighter colored stock) is pretty chewed up compared to the now 3 sets I have with the older, non-ferraled type stocks. Is the wood softer on the newer design? Anyway, there are only the first sets of pics, I may get some more up over the weekend as I examine the kits more closely.
